John was born and raised here in Indianapolis. He is a graduate of Johnson Bible College with a BS in Preaching and Pastoral Ministries and an MA in New Testament Homiletics (Preaching). He has served as Senior Minister at Western Heights Christian Church and South County Line Road Christian Church, both in Southern Illinois. While in Illinois, John was an Emergency Room Chaplain at Memorial Hospital and a Chaplain for the Makanda Township Fire Department. John was a Jr. High School and Sr. High School teacher for six years with Traders Point Christian Schools. He taught general Science, Biology and also Bible. In addition, John is also an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and an Indiana Master Naturalist.

Maria was born in Mexico City, Mexico, the oldest of a family of seven children. Although her college studies were in business, she has been an Art Entrepreneur and owned her own catering business for many years. She has lived in Indiana for the past 15 years, with her two adult children and five grandchildren. Maria and John were married in December of 2020, and enjoy dancing and hiking together as well as travelling and meeting new people.
